About Kate & The Giclee Process

Kate Spencer, born in Yorkshire but resident in St. Kitts since 1978, paints in oil and watercolour. Her original paintings may be seen and perhaps bought in her studio in the countryside of St. Kitts. Her prints can be seen in the Kate Design Basseterre gallery. On this website we show her giclee prints. These are made in editions of only 50 at three different sizes. Of course none of Kate’s work conforms to any regular size and shape and for exact dimensions you should contact us.

Approximate image sizes are as follows:

  • Small – 15” X 20”
  • Medium – 20” X 30”
  • Large – 30” X 40”
  • Small prints are US$195.
  • Medium prints are US$365.
  • Large prints are US$690

Some sizes in some editions have already reached 50 and are therefore no longer available.

 

We ship tubed by Express Mail (9-14 days) or FedEx (1-3 days). Express mail adds 10% and FedEx adds 15%. Minimum FedEx charge is $40.

We do not operate a secure site and when you are ready to order after discussion by email or telephone we recommend payment by Visa, MasterCard or American Express by telephone to: (869) 465-7740 or fax to (869) 465-4555 to Kate, Philip or Roslyn.

The Giclee printing process achieves the closest possible likeness of the original painting. The use of archival UV inks ensures the highest standards of both stability and longevity. Giclee prints are noted for their top quality image resolution, exceptional richness and depth of colour.
The proofing of all the prints has been overseen by Kate to ensure that the final edition is faithful to the original painting.
